08:00 AM – The tour begins with a personal pick-up from your hotel or hostel in the center of the city of Sucre with destination via touristic transport to the town of Chataquila where the historical church is located at that gives testament of the militia combat of combatants during the time of the death of one of the indigenous militant leaders, Tomás Katari. 50 meters from the church, we will start a walk of approximately 2 hours along the Inca Trail (the highest part) from where you can see beautiful views of the landscape and also learn about some medicinal plants – such as: the muña, wira wira, etcetera, until reaching the town of Chaunaca. Afterwards, we will take transportation towards the most interesting place of the route: the Crater of Maragua – a magical place where the colors of the rocks combine with the agriculture of the Jalq’a villages and where some houses will be visited for our entertainment in order to observe and appreciate the elaboration of textiles – amongst other attractions such as: a viewing point called Santa Ana, the cemetery, and the Throat of the Devil so that we can learn about some of the original communities’ beliefs and legends; we will have lunch there. We will then continue via transport for 25 minutes until arriving to the Crater where we will undertake a walk along the path and also head towards the Dinosaur Park of the Niñu Mayu community where you can observe different types of dinosaur footprints of the Cretaceous Era – approximately a 2-hour walk.
AFTERNOON – We will return to Sucre via touristic transport.
